GAS-FIRED FOR ECONOMY

Shown here completed in our works, this gas-fired dryer is a complete stand-alone solution to boost production capacity.  The customer originally specified electric heating, but after discussions about the Climate Charge Levy, Denso Marston chose a direct gas-fired dryer. 

Denso Marston Limited are manufacturers of commercial vehicle radiators, and this dryer is added to the end of their production line to dry radiators after their final leak test in a water tank.  The dryer is controlled by an integral Allen Bradley SLC 500 PLC. 

The dryer has three stages:

• Reciprocating air knife to blow the majority of water from the core

• Gas-fired re-circulating air dryer with high velocity air slots

• Cooler with high velocity air 

UPDATE

Since this first piece of equipment was completed and installed,  Denso have been supplied with a total of three 'air-knife' dryers manufactured by Caltherm.  Altogether this is the fifth project with Denso within 2 years.
