Process Manufacturing Limited chose Caltherm again as their subcontractors to supply equipment to one of their customers, the new Defence Aviation and Repair Agency (DARA), an organisation created from the amalgamation of the naval and RAF aircraft maintenance services.
Shown above is a previous production line supplied by Process Manufacturing, with Caltherm's innovative in-barrel dryers which saved the customer costs in both handling and drying costs. The equipment uses a thermal fluid heating system with controlled air flow and distribution, slotted injection moulded barrels with programmed quarter-turn rotation.
The DARA order included: a top loading dryer heated by thermal fluid, complete with pneumatic lids for energy efficiency a top slotted box oven with pneumatic doors at each end and a roller bed floor, heated by thermal fluid
Process Manufacturing also ordered another two 'in-barrel' dryers. Components plated in stainless steel barrels will be placed in the top-loading dryers automatically. Using high-velocity hot air, the components will be dried in the barrels, which will be slowly rotated to gently move the contents and prevent build up of moisture in crevices and depressions.
