Sissons employ over 190 people in the UK, of which 100 are involved in the manufacture of its stainless steel products. The Company has been approved since 1989 to BS 5750/ISO 9001 quality system. Sissons are specialists in deep drawing/pressing of stainless steel and use laser cutting, robot welding and CAD/CNC technology to produce high quality products for the UK and worldwide markets.

After a stainless steel bowl is deep drawn, the product needs annealing to restore the metallurgical properties. Sissons annealing process is to heat the bowls to 1100^ºC and then quench immediately with sprayed cold water.

Their existing furnace suffered a catastrophic fire after oil sprayed in to it from a fractured hose on a nearby press.

A swift delivery for a replacement was needed. Caltherm built the above, tested in their works, delivered it and started production within 12 weeks of the order.
