FURNACES are high temperature ovens; in general Caltherm would regard any oven that functions at temperatures greater than 650ºC as a furnace. Above that temperature fans cannot be fitted to re-circulate the hot air.

CONVEYOR-FED FURNACE operating at 1100ºC, incorporating a cold water quench on the production line.

SUPER-INSULATED FURNACE, supplied together with modified fork-lift loading system complete with heat shield and operator viewing port and specialist product jig. Exterior remains cool to touch; both a safety consideration and an indication of the energy efficiency of the equipment. Highly accurate temperature control maintained at +/- 3ºC on a 1200ºC furnace.

PILKINGTON FURNACE being installed in their factory.

This is a two part furnace used for toughening the glass used in aircraft screens and incorporates a fluidised sand quench.

The system is fully automated and controlled.

Several systems have been supplied to this manufacturer by Caltherm.
